We publish a limited number of sponsored articles on blog.opensubtitles.com. We accept an article only when it is worth reading for our audience, people who care about movies, TV series and subtitles. Read a few recent posts on the blog first to see what we publish.

How it works

  • You send the finished article. Send the full text, at least one image, and the link you want to include (target address and anchor text) through the contact page. A shared document link is fine. We do not review topic ideas, outlines or drafts in progress.

  • We review it. We accept the article, ask for changes, or decline it. If we decline, the decision is final.

  • We send you the payment link. You pay only after we accept the article.

  • We publish it. We publish as soon as we can after the payment is confirmed, usually within a few working days, and send you the address of the post.

    • What we publish

  • Subject: movies, TV series or subtitles. Nothing else.
  • Length: 800 to 1500 words.
  • Quality: professionally written, accurate and free of language errors. Back up claims and figures with sources.
  • Original: not published anywhere else, before or after. Unedited AI-generated text is declined.
  • Image: at least one good-quality image that you have the right to use. We cannot accept an article without an image.
  • Tone: informative. No advertising paragraphs about the linked site.

    • Links

    Up to 2 links per article, placed naturally in the text and relevant to the subject.


      The linked site must be legitimate and relevant. We do not accept links to:

      • gambling, casinos, slots, betting or lotteries;
      • cryptocurrency, trading or investment schemes;
      • CBD, cannabis, vaping, pharmacy or supplements;
      • adult content or dating;
      • loans or debt services;
      • essay-writing or homework services;
      • sites selling game currency, accounts, followers or reviews;
      • any site that is illegal, misleading, or has been taken over to host content it was not built for.
      Every link is marked as sponsored. Links carry the rel="sponsored" attribute, as search engines require for paid links. They are not do-follow, and this is not negotiable.

      How the post appears

      • It is labelled “Sponsored” on the post itself.
      • It is permanent. The post stays on the blog for as long as the blog exists. If the linked site later changes into something listed above, or stops working, we may remove the link and keep the article.
      • It is promoted. It stays on the front page of the blog for at least 48 hours, and in the “latest articles” list on opensubtitles.com and opensubtitles.org for at least 2 weeks.
      • Indexing: every new post is in the blog’s sitemap, and we submit it to Google Search Console. Search engines decide what they index and how they rank it, so we cannot guarantee either.

      Editing

      We may correct language, layout, headings and image sizes, and shorten or clarify the text so that the article fits the blog. We do not change the link target or the anchor text without asking you. If an article needs more than light editing, we send it back to you before going further.

      Pricing and Payment

      •  $100 USD per article. Your local VAT or sales tax may be added at checkout, depending on your country. We offer no discounts or package deals.
      • Payment methods: our payment provider’s checkout (card, PayPal and the other methods it offers), or cryptocurrency.
      • Not accepted: bank transfer, wire transfer, SEPA.
      • Invoices: we do not issue our own invoices. The receipt from the payment provider lists any tax charged and is your proof of purchase. For a crypto payment, the payment confirmation is your proof of purchase.
      • Refunds: a payment is not refunded once the article is published.

      Limits

      Each publisher can publish up to two articles per month. We may decline any article, and any further submissions from a publisher, without giving a reason. These terms may change. The version on this page applies to articles accepted after the date it was changed.
