1. Verify Where You Bought the VIP Package

First, determine whether you purchased the VIP package on:

2. Activation – Give It a Few Minutes

VIP status is typically activated automatically after purchase. However, in some cases, it might take a few minutes to reflect on your account.

  • On both OpenSubtitles.com and OpenSubtitles.org, please wait 5–10 minutes and refresh your profile page.
  • If the delay persists, move on to the troubleshooting steps below.


3. Using the Same Email Address

The most common issue occurs when the email address used to purchase the VIP subscription via FastSpring differs from the email address associated with your OpenSubtitles account.

If You Purchased VIP on OpenSubtitles.com

You can resolve this issue yourself:

  1. Go to the Subscriptions page on OpenSubtitles.com.
  2. Click the “Click here to look it up” link.
  3. Enter the email address used for the FastSpring purchase.
  4. The system will automatically sync your VIP package with your account.

If You Purchased VIP on OpenSubtitles.org

Unfortunately, syncing cannot be done automatically on OpenSubtitles.org. If your FastSpring purchase email is different from your OpenSubtitles.org account email, you’ll need to contact support to link the accounts manually. Provide details such as:


  • Your OpenSubtitles.org account email.
  • The email address used to purchase VIP on FastSpring.

4. Already a VIP on OpenSubtitles.org? Sync to OpenSubtitles.com

If your VIP status is active on OpenSubtitles.org, but it’s not reflected on OpenSubtitles.com:

  1. Log in to your profile on OpenSubtitles.com.
  2. Use the Link Accounts button in your profile to sync the VIP status across both platforms.
  3. This will resolve most synchronization issues.

5. Syncing VIP Between OpenSubtitles.com and OpenSubtitles.org

If you purchased a 1-year VIP subscription on OpenSubtitles.com, it will synchronize with OpenSubtitles.org within 2–3 hours. However, this sync only works for 1-year subscriptions.


If your VIP status hasn’t been updated on OpenSubtitles.org after 3 hours:


  • Confirm you purchased a 1-year subscription.
  • Contact support if the sync is still not complete.
