I just bought a VIP package on Fastpring and my account is not VIP

If you recently purchased a VIP package on FastSpring and your OpenSubtitles account isn’t showing the VIP status, don’t worry—there are a few common reasons this might happen, and most can be resolved quickly. Follow these steps to determine and fix the issue.


1. Activation – Give It a Few Minutes

VIP status is typically activated automatically after purchase. However, in some cases, it might take a few minutes to reflect on your account.


2. Using the Same Email Address

The most common issue occurs when the email address used to purchase the VIP subscription via FastSpring differs from the email address associated with your OpenSubtitles account.

You can resolve this issue yourself:

  1. Go to the Subscriptions page on OpenSubtitles.com.
  2. Click the “Click here to look it up” link.
  3. Enter the email address used for the FastSpring purchase.
  4. The system will automatically sync your VIP package with your account.

3. Already a VIP on OpenSubtitles.org? Sync to OpenSubtitles.com

If your VIP status is active on OpenSubtitles.org, but it’s not reflected on OpenSubtitles.com:

  1. Log in to your profile on OpenSubtitles.com.
  2. Use the Link Accounts button in your profile to sync the VIP status across both platforms.
  3. This will resolve most synchronization issues.

4. Syncing VIP Between OpenSubtitles.com and OpenSubtitles.org

If you purchased a 1-year VIP subscription on OpenSubtitles.com, it will synchronize with OpenSubtitles.org within 2–3 hours. However, this sync only works for 1-year subscriptions.


If your VIP status hasn’t been updated on OpenSubtitles.org after 3 hours:


  • Confirm you purchased a 1-year subscription.
  • Contact support if the sync is still not complete.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Opensubtitles.org API Will be turned off completely in early 2026, it is still operational for most applications, but we will not provide support for it any longer.


      5. What to Do If None of the Above Works

      If you’ve tried the steps above and your VIP status is still not active:

      Contact OpenSubtitles support through the Contact Page.


      Include as much detail as possible, including:


      • The email address used for your OpenSubtitles account.
      • The email address used for your FastSpring purchase.
      • The site where you purchased the VIP package (OpenSubtitles.com or OpenSubtitles.org).

      Summary


      VIP activation usually takes a few minutes.


      Ensure the purchase email matches your OpenSubtitles account email.

      • On OpenSubtitles.com, resolve mismatches in the Subscriptions page.
      • On OpenSubtitles.org, contact support if emails differ.
